⇒ What is the Procedure to pursue education in Canada

Students who dream of pursuing education in Canada or staying for a period of more than six months, first need to get an admission to any Designated Learning Institution (public college, or university) of Canada.  Once the application for admission has been acknowledged by a Designated Learning Institute (Canadian government recognized) then only can a student apply for a study permit. Students who have applied for a study permit at foreign Canadian Visa office are issued a letter of approval to visit a Canadian port of entry for their issuance of study permit on their passport. The designated time span allotted with a study permit is total duration a student requires to complete their education.

For applicants who require “TRV” – Temporary resident visa or “eTA” – Electronic travel authorization will automatically receive TRV stamp on their passport after successful approval of their study permit, without any additional charges. The students will be able to travel and once they land in Canada they will be provided with a copy of the study permit, that they have to save with their passport.

⇒ Does short courses require study permit

For courses below the tenure of six months do not require a study permit. However, for course beyond the duration of six months students need to apply for a study permit.
