CEC program is for applicants who have lived in Canada for some time, have achieved good English or French skills, and the right kind of skilled work experience, that can be used in Canadian society. The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) was created to help people like this take part in the Canadian economy.
Canadian Experience Class has gained popularity since its launch in 2008 and now over 20,000 Permanent Residency has been issued under this program. It has been one of the most successful immigration program launched by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and it has exceeded the estimated number of PRs that they planned to issue.
Temporary foreign worker or a foreign student on post graduate work permit who have skilled work experience in Canada, can move from temporary to permanent residence under the (CEC) program. The Canadian Experience Class is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents.
Eligibility criteria:
- Plan to live outside Quebec
- 12 months of full-time work experience in Canada
- Good English levels
- Skilled work experience
You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week.
You must meet the minimum language requirements for your job. You must also include the results of a language test (from an agency designated by CIC) that shows you meet them when you apply. Your English test results must not be more than two years old on the day you apply.
This program is also gives an opportunity to qualify to international student who are on post graduate work permit. International students who finishes at least 2 semesters of study program through approved institutes get eligible for 1 year of work permit and if they finish 3-4 semseters of study program then they get eligible for 3 years of work permit.
Students get an opportunity to work in Canadian economy and contribute to the growth. On completing 12 months of full-time work experience in Canada in skilled category, they could qualify to apply for PR in Canada.
