Federal Skilled Trade Worker Program Updates
The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for individuals who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade.
No more than 5,000 complete federal skilled trade applications will be accepted for processing as of May 1, 2014. These are the last applications Immigration Canada will accept under the current system before Express Entry launches in January 2015.
Within the 5,000 cap, no more than 100 new applications for each job will be considered for processing.
NOC codes
In total, 90 jobs will be eligible to apply under the Federal Skilled Trades program this year. The specific codes from the 2011 version of the NOC are provided below as you must include this in your application form.

The applicant must prove their ability in English or French in the following four areas:
