Since its founding in 1967, Cambrian College has held the top position among post-secondary institutions in Northern Ontario. When Ontario’s college system was established, Cambrian College was established as a technical school. It was initially founded on university campuses in Sudbury, North Bay, and Sault Ste. Marie.
Cambrian had been a bilingual institution up until 1995, offering courses in both French and English. The French curriculum was transferred to Collège Boréal in the same year. This university is the largest in Northern Ontario. It has more than 4,100 full-time students and provides 80 regular programs that meet people’s needs in terms of education and work.
With a population of 161,531, Sudbury is the largest municipality, cultural, economic, and entertainment hub of Northern Ontario. Cambrian provides for all of the needs of the students, whether they are looking for a student organization to join or consulting a healthcare provider. Over 4100 students are enrolled in 80 full-time programs at Cambrian College, and over 7000 are enrolled in approximately 900 part-time programs across its three Northern Ontario campuses in Little Current—Manitoulin Island, Espanola, and Sudbury. The college has a vibrant student body of over 11,000 total. In the 2018 fiscal year, Cambrian secured $3.2 million in research income. Comparing this to the research income recorded for the 2017 fiscal year, there has been an increase of 73%.

According to the QS World Ranking, Cambrian College will be ranked 1425 globally in 2022. According to another popular ranking body, US News & World Report, Cambrian College is ranked 159 in Canada for the year 2022. According to Times Higher Education, this college is ranked #1325 in 2022.

Application fees
The application fees for undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and diploma programs at Cambrian College is $95 and is non-refundable. This application cost must be paid for admissions together with the completed application. Also keep in mind that acceptance is not guaranteed by paying the application fee.
