Student Visa
Your Pathway to Studying in Canada
What is Study Permit ?
A Study Permit is an official document issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that allows international students to study at designated learning institutions (DLIs) in Canada. It is a mandatory requirement for most international students and, in some cases, may also permit part-time work while studying.

Canada Student Visa Categories
The Student Direct Stream (SDS) offers a faster visa processing option for legal residents of specific countries, including India, China, Brazil, and others. Applicants under SDS must meet stricter financial and language requirements, including:
- Proof of English Language Proficiency
- IELTS: 6.0 in each band
- PTE: 60
- TOEFL: 83+
- Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) deposit of $20,635 CAD
As of November 8, 2024, the SDS is closed for new applications. Only applications submitted before 2:00 PM on November 8, 2024, will be processed under the SDS expedited timeline.
For students not eligible for SDS, the General Category (Non-SDS) requires additional documentation and follows a longer processing timeline.
